Black markings on a pristine page:
Footfalls found in the Winter's first snow;
The nothingness collecting in drifts,
Snowflakes falling in silence.
Someone might pause, touch
And gaze, in wonder,
And claim emotional kin.
As with the crystalline individuality
Of snowflakes, we are still all alike.
